VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Aine eesmärk on:
- õpetada optikat süvendatult ja kujundada üliõpilastes professionaalsust optika valdkonnas;
- anda ülevaade enamkasutatavate optiliste seadmete ehitusest ja konstruktsioonielementidest
- tutvustada optikaalast terminoloogiat, mõõdetavate suuruste vahelisi seoseid ja arvutusvalemeid,
- õpetada optiliste mõõtmiste metoodikat ja optiliste seadmete kasutamist.
course aims in English
The aim of this course is to:
- provide advanced study and develop skills and knowledge in the field of optics;
- give an overview of the structure of the most common optical devices and structural elements;
- introduce the terminology of optics, the relations between measured quantities and calculation formulas;
- learn to use optical devices and methods of optical measurements.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:

brief description of the course in Estonian
Kursuses käsitletakse geomeetrilise ja laineoptika põhiseadusi: valguse murdumine ja peegeldumine, polarisatsioon, Fresneli valemid. Optiliste süsteemide põhielemendid (diafragma, peeglid, läätsed, prismad, võred jne). Aberratsioonid ja nende kõrvaldamise võimalused. Inimsilm. Optiliste riistade tööpõhimõte (mikroskoop, teleskoop, monokromaator jt). Optilised katted. Valgusjuhid.
brief description of the course in English
The course deals with fundamentals of geometrical and wave optics: reflection and refraction of the light, polarization, Fresnel’s equations. Basic elements of optical systems (optical diaphragm, plane and spherical mirrors, thin and thick lenses, prisms, gratings etc.). Aberrations and ways to eliminate them. The human eye. Principle of working of optical instruments (microscope, telescope, monochromator etc.). Optical coatings. Fibre optics.
