VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Aine eesmärk on:
- õppida tundma mikromaailma seaduspärasusi tasemel, mis võimaldab aru saada tänapäeva füüsikaprobleemidest ja kvantmehaanikal tuginevate tehniliste lahenduste tööpõhimõttest;
- kujundada ja arendada edasi süsteemset, tänapäevateadusel baseeruvat füüsikalist maailmapilti.
course aims in English
The aim of this course is to:
- learn the fundamentals of quantum mechanics at a level which makes it possible to understand the problems of modern physics, and the operating principles of technological solutions based on quantum mechanics;
- shape and develop a systematic, modern-physics-based world view.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- kirjedab ja analüüsib kvantteooria põhialuseid, mikromaailmas valitsevaid seaduspärasusi ja nende rakendusi tänapäeva maailmas;
- kasutab kvantmehaanikat mikromaailma lihtsaimate probleemide analüüsil ja lahendamisel;
- selgitab aine ehitust ja omadusi;
- kasutab elementaarset kvantmehaanikat rakendusfüüsika ja inseneriteadustega seotud probleemide analüüsil ning iseseisva töö korral kirjandusega;
- seostab kvantteooriat tehnika toimimise ja meid ümbritseva elukeskkonna nähtuste kirjeldamisel ning analüüsil;
- selgitab spektroskoopia põhialuseid.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course, the student:
- describes and analyses the basic laws and models of quantum theory and its applications in nowadays world;
- uses quantum mechanics in analysing and solving of simplest problems in microworld;
- explains the structure of matter and its main qualities;
- applies elementary quantum mechanics to the analysis of problems in applied physics and engineering science, and in independent research;
- makes connections to quantum theory while describing and analysing the phenomena in our surrounding environment;
- explains the basic topics of spectroscopy.
