Üliõpilane:
- saab aru ja oskab kasutada keemia põhimõisteid ja seadusi tehniliste probleemide lahendamisel;
- oskab keemiaga seonduvate probleemide lahendamisel valida ja kasutada sobivaid meetodeid;
- oskab teha arvutusi mis seonduvad gaaside, aurudega ja vedelikega;
- oskab arvutada reaktsiooni kiirust erinevatel temperatuuridel;
- oskab hinnata tasakaalulise reaktsiooni toimumise suunda etteantud tingimustel.

After passing the course a student:
- is able to choose and apply the suitable method for solving of technical problems with chemical background;
- is able to report the results of the experimental work according to presented specifications;
- is able to perform basic calculations with gases and vapours, liquid solutions, quantities and amounts of substances (materials).

Keemia põhimõisted, seadused. Gaasilises, vedelas ja tahkes olekus ained. Vesilahuste peamised omadused. Keemiliste reaktsioonide toimumise ja kulgemise seaduspärasused. Keemilise tasakaalu ja kineetika alused. Elektrokeemia olemus ja peamised seaduspärasused. Metallide korrosioon, korrosioonitõrje.
brief description of the course in English
Principal terminology and laws of chemistry. Compounds in gaseous, liquid and solid state. Principal properties of water solutions. Fundamental laws and conditions for chemical reactions. Chemical equilibrium and chemical kinetics basics. Essence of electrochemical reactions and their application in practice. Corrosion of metals and alloys; types of corrosion, protection methods.

Eksamile pääsemiseks peavad eksamile eelnevaks päevaks olema olemas eksamieeldused praktikumidest: sooritatud 2 laboratoorset tööd ja esitatud korrektselt täidetud laboripäevik

Eksam koosneb kahest osast:
- Ülesanded (30%)
- Eksam (70%)

Prerequisites for admission to exam:
Two practical works has been performed on time and the practicum diary is approved.
Written examination contains theoretical questions (70%) and typical problems on chemical calculations (30%) based on the materials studied in classes.
