- tunneb matemaatikapaketiga seotud programmeerimiskeelt ja oskab koostata lihtsamaid arvutusprogramme;
- oskab teha joonte ja pindade graafikuid ning kujundada vastavaid jooniseid.

- knows possibilities provided by software packages for Mathematics for solving mathematical exercises;
- knows how to describe the algorithm solving the exercise in the environment of the software package;
- knows programming language linked to the software package and is able to compile simpler computational programs;
- is able to make linear and planar graphics and design corresponding drawings.

Käsitletakse matmaatikapakette Mathematica, MATLAB, MathCAD. Lähemalt tutvutakse paketi Mathematica vahetu kasutamise ja programmeerimise võimalustega. Ülesannete lahendamine analüütiliste ja numbriliste meetoditega, graafika funktsioonide kasutamine 2D ja 3D jooniste tegemiseks ning nende kujundamiseks. Kursusega seotud laboratoorsete tööde tegemiseks võib kasutada teisi matemaatikapakette.
brief description of the course in English
The following software packages for Mathematics are expanded upon: Mathematica, MATLAB, MathCAD. A closer look is taken at the firsthand use and programming possibilities of the package Mathematica. Solving of exercises with analytical and numerical methods, using of graphics functions for making and designing 2D and 3D drawings. The use of other software packages for implementing laboratory works connected with the course is optional.

Õppeaine lõpphinne kujuneb eksamil, kus tuleb matemaatikapaketi abil lahendada ülesanne. Semestri jooksul peab üliõpilane esitama kolm laboratoorset tööd. Laboratoorsete tööde edukas kaitsmine on eksamile lubamise eelduseks.

The final grade is formed in the examination where there is an assignment to be solved with a software package. During the semester the student must present three laboratory works. Successful defending of the laboratory works is the prerequisite to attend the examination.

Iseseisev töö seisneb teoreetiliste materjalide läbitöötamises ja kodutööde täitmises. Töö maht statsionaarses õppes – 60 tundi, kaugõppes – 120 tundi

The self-dependent work of students consists in the learning of the theoretical material of the subject and in the solving home-problems. Learning capacities of the subject in the stationary learning is 30 hours and in the extramural learning 60 hours.
