VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Teadmiste omandamine inimese anatoomia ja füsioloogia kohta ühtse, integreeritud tervikuna.
course aims in English
To obtain basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
in an integrated manner.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Üliõpilane omandab integreeritud arusaamise inimese anatoomiast ja füsioloogiast. Omandatakse teadmised organismi eri organite ja organsüsteemide struktuurist anatoomilisel tasandil ja nende toimimisest ja reguleerimisest füsioloogilisel tasandil.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
Student gains an integrated understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Student understands the structure of different organs and organs systems on the anatomical level and their function and regulation on
the physiological level.

brief description of the course in Estonian
Meeleelundid. Reproduktiivsüsteem: suguorganite ehitus, reproduktiivfunktsioonide füsioloogia ja regulatsioon.

brief description of the course in English
History of anatomy and physiology. Anatomical terminology. Structure of tissues and cell types. Integumentary system. Locomotion and support apparatus: bones, joints and muscles; biomechanical basis of locomotion. Blood, lymph and defence mechanisms (immune system). Digestion: food transport, degradation and absorption in digestive tract. Anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system: heart as a pump, generation and spreading of impulse in heart muscle; flow of blood as a liquid, exchange of chemicals between heart and other tissues. Respiratory system: structure of respiratory tract, ventilation of lungs, diffusion of respiratory gas in alveoli and transport by blood; structure of larynx and generation of voice. Secretion: the structure and function of kidneys and urinary tract. Regulation of metabolism (acid-base balance, water balance, Na-K and minerals’ balance, thermoregulation). Nervous system: anatomy and functions. Neural regulation of bodily functions, complex functions of the brain. Sense organs. Reproductive system: structure functional physiology and regulation of reproductive organs. Endocrine system: hormones, hormonal regulation of organism.
